Welcome to the new version of Thisis50!

We've been hard at work for the past few months to offer you guys a fresher look of the site.

In short, we felt like Thisis50 needed a new look, a better organisation of its content as well as a more user-friendly interface.

This is the result we came up with and we hope you will like it.

New features include:

- Twitter real time ticker
- Upcoming releases calendar (Thisis50 content + Music content)
- What's Hot section -- based on hottest content on the site on a per week basis (right side and menu top for more)
- New blog menus (on left side of blog) with no reload
- Highlight of exclusive content

The redesign is the first step of a round of improvements we are about to release within the next few weeks. We are currently working on new sections for more music discoveries and an iPhone and iPad app among other things.

We appreciate any feedback so feel free to leave yours here now or there after a few days of use.

Looks great) but to my mind to things can be changed:
1- thisis50 logo in the upper left corner i think should be more complictaed like now on thisis50.com
2- i suppose that 50 Cent's webpage should a darker than v.2, should be more darker colors like red black and others but its up to me)

The new look is definitely a move in the right direction. It's has more of a web 2.0 look and feel. Your ad integration could use an upgrade as well. Maybe its the ad network you're partnered with, but people rarely click on banner ads anymore, and the ones that usually show up on thisis50 arent very targeted to this demographic. You might be better off with in-post ads. this way the "algorithms" or whatever, will make the banners a little more targeted to the actual content in the post. Then you can use the sidebar banner ad space for cross marketing products like StreetKing, SMS, 50 Laws, Album releases etc. or at least more premium ads. Sidebar still looks a little sloppy. You have recent activity "boxed in" and that looks clean (facebook plugin) , but then the Members, Upcoming Releases, and Whos Hot sections are just out there and they look horrible. Anyway, good luck and congrats on the new look. Thisis50 is a great hub for hip-hop content, but it doesnt look great. Some of that might have to do with the limitations of Ning in general, but who knows.
